The explicit lack of diversity in Canadian commercial production is problematic and pervasive. Creatives from underrepresented communities have been excluded, overlooked, and undervalued due to institutional bias and discrimination, and opportunities to engage, excel and progress to the next tier of expertise are limited.

Hire Higher aims to connect BIPOC-focused film initiatives, foundations, and talent with the commercial production industry through outreach, education, advocacy and mentorship.

Our goal is to create direct pathways and opportunities for underrepresented talent to develop the tools, knowledge and networks necessary to build a successful career in production.
